General Election 2020 VOTING DATES:
Note:  “One-stop” means registration & voting at same time – with valid ID.  

  • Today! Decide.  Vote by mail. Or vote by ‘walk-in’.  IF mail-in:
    Look into getting your Absentee Ballot through the Absentee Ballot Request form as soon as possible.
    This is a two-step process described on the HOME page.
  • Sept 1... NC Bd of Elections plans to launch an online absentee ballot request portal.  Through the portal, voters will be able to request a ballot completely online, with no need to print out or mail a request form.
  • Sept. 4: Absentee voting-ballots will begin to be sent out. (Voting may begin.) 
  • Oct. 9: Voter registration deadline. After Early-one-stop voting begins (Oct. 15), you may register there with valid ID.

  • Oct. 15: “One-stop” EARLY WALK-IN voting begins.   (See sites listed below).
    Monday – Fridays: 8 am – 7:30 pm.
    Saturdays: Oct 17 & 24: 8 am -6 pm.
    Your absentee ballot may be delivered by yourself or ‘near’ relative to early voting; you may have to wait in line (Per SBOE 8/24).  One-stop/Early voting ends Oct 31:  8am – 3pm
  • Oct. 27: Absentee voting REQUEST form deadline (this is TOO LATE!  Get it NOW!!!).
  • Oct. 31: “One-stop” EARLY voting ends at 3 pm.  If delivering absentee ballot yourself or ‘near’ relative get there by 3 pm. (You may have to wait in line – Per SBOE 8/24.) 
  • Nov. 3:  GENERAL ELECTION day.*
    Walk-in voting begins at 6:30 am and ends at 7:30 pm.  
    Absentee ballots:  Mail ballot to: Bd of Elections, PO Box 2090, Hendersonville, NC 28793 – before 5 pm (postmark) on November 3rd. It will need 1 stamp (8/11/20).
    OR:  Deliver it yourself or ‘near’ relative to: Bd. of Elections, 75 E. Central St., Hendersonville; M- F: 8:30am – 5 pm, and before 5 pm on NOV. 3.
