This Fourth of July, 46 proud members of the Henderson County Democratic Party marched (and rolled!) through the streets of Hendersonville with a message that echoes through American history: No Kings. No Tyrants. Just Us — the People.
Our float boldly proclaimed “Defend the Constitution” and “Voting for Democrats is Your Superpower,” while signs in the crowd reminded spectators what this day was always meant to stand for — resistance, justice, equality, and the promise of a government that works for everyone.
🎆 We waved flags.
🗳️ We held signs calling for free and fair elections.
🏳️🌈 We stood up for our LGBTQIA+ neighbors.
✊ We said loudly: Black Lives Matter.
📜 And we affirmed: We the People means ALL the people.
The Fourth isn’t about blind patriotism. It’s about remembering that our founders declared independence from a king. They resisted tyranny. They refused to accept a system built for the powerful few. This year, as we watch billionaires dodge taxes, extremists attack our freedoms, and working families left behind — we know their fight is now ours.
To every person who marched with us, cheered us on, or honked in support — thank you. You give us hope. And you remind us that this movement is about neighbors, not parties. About freedom, not fear.
We’re still fighting for that original promise — liberty and justice for all.
