Together with the Progressive Alliance of Henderson County, we are sponsoring Hendersonville's own BIGGER THAN ROE National Day of Action on Saturday, June 24.

One year after Roe v Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court, our state and our country are in a state of emergency. Radical right-wing state legislators have rushed to take away the rights of women to control what they can or can’t do with their own bodies. Fourteen states have banned abortion outright. Several more, including North Carolina, have passed or plan to pass legislation banning abortion before most women know they’re pregnant. As a result, many young women have fewer reproductive rights than their grandmothers had.

Poll after poll shows that the people of the United States overwhelmingly support a woman's right to choose. Several states have already scored wins to counteract efforts to ban abortion. When the people decide, reproductive freedom wins.

On June 24, from Washington DC — where our allies will take the march to the steps of the Supreme Court, to Hendersonville and all around the country, we will mobilize to let the world know we will not be deterred.

The struggle is bigger than Roe. And together we will win.

We have signs, or you can bring your own.
