Hendersonville Precinct 3 and Laurel Park Precinct hosted a fun and informative event Sunday, drawing about 60 enthusiastic “blue wavers.”
Gina Baxter, City Council Representative, spoke about the importance of zoning and other key local issues. Ron Redmon shared insights on the pro-democracy group Indivisible and the urgency of protecting our democracy. Henderson County Democratic Party Chair Leslie Carey outlined plans for next year’s election and stressed the critical need for election judges.
Bettie Watford Orr brought a festive touch with patriotic party decorations and delicious nibbles, while Amy and Sean Burns added a dose of friendly competition with two creative activities — a “beanpole” game on local, state, and federal issues, and a trivia challenge testing how well attendees know their political representatives.
A special thank-you goes to Dry Falls Brewery for generously hosting the gathering in their event room — a comfortable and welcoming space that we highly recommend to others.
