Sharing the News: Stand in Solidarity on January 10

We want to let you know that a rally to Stand in Solidarity for Renee Nicole Good, the 37 year old mom who was fatally shot by ICE agents in Minneapolis, is being sponsored by PERSIST of Henderson County on Saturday January 10th at noon in front of the new courthouse on Grove Street in Hendersonville.

Along with decent people throughout the world, HCDP mourns ALL the lives lost due to the out of control actions of ICE and other agents who have been storming cities across our nation without regard for due process or the rule of law. We mourn the families torn apart, the children traumatized, the fabric of our society torn, our children's future put at risk.

Yet we are proud of the people in our community--people of all persuasions and backgrounds--who are stepping up to say, "This is not right, this is not normal, and this must end."

Please note that HCDP is not a sponsor of this event.  Along with the organizers, we remind attendees to practice non-violence and peaceful protest in keeping with our values and to serve as a stark contrast to the atrocities we are witnessing daily. HCDP steadfastly condemns violence of any kind.

Stay safe, never give up, and, most of all, make a plan to vote.
