Looking to make a real difference? Sign up to help during the NC Primary
Early in-person voting for the NC Primary starts February 12th, and we need a strong showing of poll greeters and observers.
Training for these important jobs will be provided at the HCDP Office (2024F Asheville Hwy) on the following dates:
· TUES Feb 3rd at 5pm
· THURS Feb 5th at 5pm
· SAT Feb 7th at 9am
“We’ve found that long time greeters enjoy being the friendly faces of the Democrats as people approach the polling places,” said organizer Lisa Grupe. “People who have worked as observers have enjoyed witnessing the voting process inside the polling place. Both roles are important in making sure every eligible voter feels welcome at the polling place and participates in a fair and peaceful election.”
Early in-person voting is from Feb 12-28 with the following schedule:
· Weekdays from 8am to 7:30 pm
· Saturdays 2/14 & 2/28 from 8 am to 3 pm
· No voting on Saturday 2/21
· No voting on Sundays
Volunteer shifts are approximately four hours in length, but there is some flexibility--if enough people sign up, shifts can be split. People may also sign up for multiple shifts.
Early voting sites are at the Board of Elections off Spartanburg Highway in Hendersonville, Fletcher Town Hall, Etowah Library, and the Edneyville Community Center.
In addition, Primary Election Day is March 3rd. Volunteers will be needed at every precinct from 6:30am to 7:30 pm.
Volunteers help bolster our electoral process and encourage voters. Serving in this way is a great opportunity to stand up for democracy.
